Here you can see signs of echolalia, where he repeats the words or phrases said to him instead of directly answering the question, but if given time you can see he processes what’s asked and is able to answer the question. I’ve also self-diagnosed him as a gestalt language processor, “a language acquisition style where children memorize phrases and then break them down to learn individual word meanings.” As a parent, not being in denial is the first step to get your kid the resources they need.
