I mean, she's asking for a passport not a visa. Don't know about the northern border but via Chiapas I've always needed my US passport or Guatemalan DPI.

You’ve needed a passport for years now. My parents retired in Baja California in 2005 so we go on a regular basis. For land travel you can use the passport card it’s cheaper.

Same with Europe, they’re asking for visas from US citizens too. I mean, it’s not a bad idea, more paper work but tell me what doesn’t require a little money and paperwork to travel the world?

The rule was placed a long time ago that u needed a passport to enter mexico but they were not putting it in force like when u fly so its nothing new and hopefully will need visa too

You need a FMM (visitor's card) to enter w/valid passport. As long as you plan ahead a bit, it's easy. Getting dual citizenship to be able to get the passport is NOT easy as he says. 🤦🏻♀️
