i think part of it is that ppl want a cheat sheet so they don’t actually have to form opinions, they can just be like “movie has xyz, therefore bad” and then stop thinking right there

Mixed feelings on this one. The superhero genre is inherently political and has been since Action Comics #1, so I don’t see why you’d separate being a superhero story from politics.
