Not the movement. Not the partner. That's why both sides hate me. I refuse to need saving — from the patriarchy or for it. You don't have to choose a flag. Build the floor. … The floor I'm talking about isn't a metaphor. It's sleep. It's how the body moves. It's energy at 8 PM. Every ideology I've tried needed me to neglect something real for it. The body doesn't negotiate with ideology. It responds to what you give it. Not to what you believe about it. No flag gives you that. That's the floor that doesn't move.
