@tolufrimpong: I know this might be a bit controversial, but it needs to be said—I’m not doing this anymore. Let’s normalise having birthday celebrations within our budget instead of passing the cost onto other parents. The cost of living is hitting us all. Imagine if every parent started charging for their kid’s birthday party… we’d be spending a fortune just to attend! Over the years, I’ve done all kinds of celebrations for my boys—some years it’s been a simple meal at home and a cinema trip, and other times we’ve had huge parties with 100+ guests. But either way, it was our expense. We chose to celebrate, so we covered the cost. There are so many creative ways to throw a fun, memorable birthday without breaking the bank—no need to invoice other parents! Anywhoo, rant over.
