Complete Holbox travel guide 🇲🇽 One of my favourite places we’ve visited on the Yucatan peninsula, Holbox is a car free island between the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico and is full of gorgeous nature and marine life such as sea turtles and whale sharks! How to get there: It’s a 30 minute ferry from Chiquila port which is easily accessible in a couple of hours from places like Cancun/Playa del Carmen using the ADO bus When to visit: The dry season runs from December to April where the weather will be less stable and you’ll also avoid seaweed on the beaches (most common from April-August) BUT if you want to see the whale sharks, they usually arrive in May and leave in August! Things to do: 🛶 Sunrise kayak tour through the mangroves to see the flamingoes and crocodiles ✨ Bioluminescence and star gazing kayak tour 🏝️ Walk along the sand banks all the way to punta mosquito 🍕 Try the famous lobster pizza from Roots pizzeria 🌊 If in season, go swimming with whale sharks 🥞 Try “Marquesitas” from a vendor on the main square 🏖️ Relax on playa Holbox 🥭 Try a “mango flower” from one of the vendors on the beach 🎨 Wander around the town to see all the street art 🐶 Visit the animal rescue centre, you can also walk the dogs if you wish! #holbox #holboxisland #mexico🇲🇽 #yucatanpeninsula #quintanaroo #mexicotravel #placestotravel
