Especially those you can buy at the same store you buy your toilet paper. 😆 It’s an $87B industry that is not regulated. There’s also new research showing that supplemental probiotics can actually interfere with microbiome recovery after antibiotics, rather than facilitate it. The most potent + simple probiotic supplement on the market... ✨just a splash of kraut brine in a glass of water✨ I add a tiny splash (about 1tsp) in my boys water every morning and also add it to the stainless water bottles they take to school. They can’t taste it, and it costs less than a penny. This SINGLE splash will have BILLIONS of lactobacillus. Yet “practitioner grade” probiotics that are upwards of $60+ have an average of 600 billion lactobacillus in the ENTIRE BOTTLE…and those “live and active cultures” are probably dead before they hit your stomach. 🫠 Consuming properly fermented foods (kraut, kimchi, carrots, pickles, kefir, etc) is also something we do regularly. And if you can’t get past the taste, I’d say coconut kefir water is an excellent option. Simple Sauerkraut Method 1. Prep: Ensure all tools and jars are clean. Core and chop the cabbage to your desired thickness, saving some large leaves. 2. Salt & Rest: Layer chopped cabbage with sea salt in a large bowl. Cover with the saved leaves and a towel, letting it sit for 4-5 hours. 3. Massage & Pack: Remove the cover, massage the cabbage for 5 minutes, then pack it into clean Mason jars with its juices. 4. Brine: Mix 1 cup water with 1 tbsp sea salt and pour over the cabbage until fully submerged. Use a large cabbage leaf to keep everything under the liquid. 5. Ferment: Seal with an airtight lid and let sit on the counter for 3-4 weeks, burping daily the first 7 days. 6. Store & Enjoy: Once fermented, refrigerate and use on salads, wraps, sandwiches, or eat by itself! 7. Drink the brine or save it for your next lacto-ferment! 🥬💚 8. Stop spending your $$ on 💩 supplements that just give you expensive pee. 😘 #healthyfood #probiotics #guthealth #guthealing #fermentedfoods #hacks #fyp #healthy #healthyrecipes #healthyliving #momtok #fermented #fermentation #foodtiktok #KitchenHacks #foodhacks #immunesystem #microbiome
