@jaguarrescuecenter: 🤩 Today, we have great news, another ocelot has been rewilded! 🐾 We shared Imperial’s story in late August, but here’s a recap. Imperial is an ocelot who was kept as a pet for over a year in a small cage, with no hiding spots or big enough for him to move freely. Our vet team gave him a full check-up to ensure he was healthy, and we confirmed that he is a strong juvenile ocelot. 🌳 Once we knew he was in good health, we moved Imperial to our release station, La Ceiba, where he began his rehabilitation process in preparation for rewilding. He had a large enclosure in the middle of the primary forest, where he gradually adapted to his natural environment, experiencing new smells and sounds while minimizing human contact as much as possible. 🍃 Thanks to his rehabilitation and a lot of dedication from our team, we are thrilled to announce that Imperial was released on Saturday in @selvabananitolodge . 💫 He is now thriving and enjoying the freedom he should have had from the start. #ocelot #wildcat #rewilding #rescuecenter #fyp #paratii
