People bought mostly all automatics..... So the manufacturers stopped making manuals. It's not complicated. 🙄

Come one, you know exactly why. A big land rover or jaguar is for cruising about, a smaller car you might want to throw it round a bit, if you're not using semi auto no need for the stick.

old automatic boxes were oil controlled and the gear selector would move valves in the box modern boxes are electric controlled so the selector is a switch

Think it’s a pointless upgrade, would much prefer a traditional gear lever. The only beneficial car is Mercedes, as you at least gain a cup holder!
