My boomer mother will only ever understand dishonest harmony. The difference is if your kid said you didn’t hug them enough, you’d make efforts to hug them more. Some boomers and Gen X do not change.

But a lot of the resentment stems from their inability to acknowledge any failing. Millennials seem ready to acknowledge they will sometimes fail and own up to it, which paves the way to repair.

I think you’re correct. I think one of the differences is, yes our kids are gonna come to us one day and say hey, this hurt but we won’t deny them or their feelings.
