That’s the size we used to catch back in 72 on lake worth pier. Fishing with my dad the entire weekend on the pier.Throw anything at them live or lures and you got one on. My god those are the days.

Caramel * In a pot, add: * 1 cup brown sugar * ½ cup butter * ¼ cup corn syrup * Pinch of salt * Cook over medium heat while stirring. * Let it bubble for about 4–5 minutes until smooth and glossy. * Remove from heat. Peanut Brittle * In a pan, add: * 1 cup sugar * ½ cup corn syrup * ¼ cup water * Cook over medium heat until it turns golden amber. * Stir in: * 1 cup peanuts * 1 tablespoon butter * 1 teaspoon baking soda * Quickly pour onto parchment paper. * Let it cool completely until hard. Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream (Custard Style) Make the Custard * In a bowl, whisk together: * 3 egg yolks * ½ cup sugar * In a pot, heat: * 2 cups heavy cream * 1 cup milk * 1 tablespoon vanilla * Heat over medium-low heat until warm, not boiling. * Slowly pour a little of the warm cream into the egg mixture while whisking. * Pour everything back into the pot. * Cook on low heat, stirring constantly, until it slightly thickens and coats the back of a spoon. * Let it cool. ⸻ Freeze the Ice Cream * Pour the custard into a small Ziploc bag and seal it. * Fill a bigger Ziploc bag with: * Ice * A lot of salt * Put the small bag inside the big bag. Shake for about 10–15 minutes until thick and frozen. Final Mix * Crush some of the peanut brittle into very tiny pieces. * Crush some popcorn into tiny pieces too. * Fold both into the vanilla ice cream. Serve the ice cream with two sticks of peanut brittle on top.
