They were also some of the areas that surprised us the most. 💫 The Middle East and Central Asia are such a diverse area! From exploring Dubai to sleeping in a yurt in Kyrgyzstan. As the birthplace of civilization, it is home to some of the richest history in the world. The mountains in places like Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan are also some of the most beautiful in the world. 🌯 And you can't visit the Middle East without talking about the food! It is sooooo incredible! The 124 shawarmas and 24lbs of hummus I mentioned in the video I made up to be funny. But then I started thinking about it and it probably isn't too much of an exaggeration! Amazing tea, dates, dolma, kabuli pulao, etc... ❤️ But the thing that stood out the most was the people! Middle Eastern hospitality is unbelievable. And then the kindness continued all throughout Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and more. Some of the nicest hospitality we've experienced in 167 countries. Countless strangers offering us tea, inviting us to their home, and just stopping to make us feel welcome. We can't say thank you enough to everyone who was so kind while we were in your country. ➡️ (Just to clarify about the countries on this list. I know Egypt is usually considered part of the Middle East, but I had already included it in our Africa series so I decided to not include it here. And Afghanistan and Pakistan are often considered Southern Asia but we did them in the same trip so I decided to include them here too. Through reading our comments, we realize many people would love to travel more but don't know where to start. Money, time, not knowing where to go or what to do when you get there, are all barriers to travel. So we decided to start this new series. Each week, we'll share new tips and destination recommendations. For those of you who are new here - we started traveling in a van, then RV, and eventually internationally. Whether it's a weekend camping trip a drive away or a long international trip - if you want to travel more, we hope to help you take that next step! We never imagined going to 20 countries, let alone being on a mission to visit them all. But we fell in love with travel. Through lots of trial and error (and I do mean LOTS ) we've now somehow found ourselves having visited 85% of the world's countries. There's 2 goals for this series: 1. Help people travel more. 2. Share what it's like to visit places that people may not be able to travel. In starting this series, we realize that travel isn't possible for everyone and something that is helpful to one person won't apply to all.
