@mothershipsg: Worker's Party Secretary-General Pritam Singh was found guilty on Feb. 17 of wilfully making false answers to material questions put to him during his examination by the Committee of Privileges (COP) in December 2021. He was handed two fines of S$7,000 by Deputy Principal District Judge Luke Tan, the maximum penalty for each charge under the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) Act. It was initially unclear to some as to whether the penalties of the two charges would be combined, which would exceed the S$10,000 threshold to disqualify Singh as an MP. We explain why Singh can still serve as an MP and stand in the next general election. #sgnews #tiktoksg #singapore #fyp
