he supposed to tell her the cost before hand and not after. i do service too and even ifbthere $1 different, I ask the customer if they are okay with that or not. thats the right way

I own a business and I tell people 20 times and put it in writing and people who don't speak English well always do this. I know they understand but they act confused. I think it's to get it for cheap.
