Those bricks look as good as new, covering them it’s a criminal, yes if they were really broken leaking and unless very old.. that rendering 4-5 years would look old and dull

Bricks are porous and meant to absorb and release moisture, sealing them making them waterproof as you say will cause massive issues down the line, for context I'm a building surveyor by trade 👍

if you're putting a silicone render straight on to bare brick it will fail within a few years, you need to key coat prime it, mesh&basecoat it then can put a silicone render on top!
