For those wondering: it's fluid drained from the Abdomen not stomach. This fluid that accumulates is called ascites. It's caused by liver failure. This needs to be drained sometimes daily, weekly.

they can put a tube in that stays in and you can drain at home when you feel better. homecare nurses can help you with that. should only drain 1 litre at a time tho at home or clinic. Best wishes

I too just had this done last week. They removed 11.3litres all at one go. The relief I felt immediately after was wonderful.

Can she have a pleurx catheter? That way it stays in and she doesn’t have to get poked constantly anymore (I place these in patients so I know all about them)
