Right. Why does he have to lose me to realize he wants me? Is that the father of my children? I’m so tired of being taken for granted. Damage is damage. I’d still likely forgive my ex somehow but the fact it would take him hurting me to potentially change is really heartbreaking. Being punished for loving someone is unreal.

Detachment is a healing mechanism produced to handle the pain people are putting themselves into when falling in love with someoe who doesn't love you.

I think you mistaken “detaching” for apathy. I think it’s important to be detached, since that is how you free yourself from suffering.

What you said is 100% true but IF she is talking about the law of detachment, that’s not what it is. It’s accepting that nothing is yours to keep, being okay with what leave to open yourself up (1)
