there are many many ways to streamline the install process, you can have a PXE boot windows server that does the deployment for you, auto USBs that do the setup once windows is already installed etc

PXE boot into automated installer or use something like clonezilla over network boot to auto restore an image that has all of your RMM software installed for auto updates and configuration. It’s 2025.

There are lots of things you can do to make things easier for yourself. The easiest is probably make an install stick with unattended install. But the smartest is to fix PXE boot and install with WDS

I'm also in optiplex hell. When my company was built, they were installed by a 3rd party group. They didn't give us the admin passwords to remote in. I have to backdoor into 200 optiplexes to fix it😭

do you really individually image these ? I imaged 7 laptops in 30 ish minutes with our pxe boot and driver install process I don't miss the days when I started where they would take 3 hrs

We use the optiplex 3090 at my job and every single one of them have bad cmos batteries. Brand new, out of the box desktops and the cmos batt is dead

We have the OptiPlex 3000 micro. Latest bios will not allow devices to connect to Wi-Fi before a user logs into our domain. Once you get in with a cached profile it connects right up.

My desk looks the exact same. Ones we deployed in Dec have had the back USB ports randomly stop working, but bios update has fixed that from what we're seeing.
