Make a good game then. Passion means nothing if the end product is not enjoyable. Even the simplest idea can be great. Balatro is the prime example of this, or Manor Lords.

The comments are frustrating as someone who has seen the struggles of indiedev first hand. The post is saying even if u make a “good game” it could still do poorly fiscally. Nothing is a guarantee.

As a developer myself, I actually have the opposite sentiments. Games like Stardew, Balatro, Lethal company, all demonstrate that not only are Indie games popular, they’re thriving.

there are hidden games that are great, but most games in the 66% failed for a reason. they are overused ideas, bad mechanics, glitches, etc... the amount of animal crossing/farming games is unreal..
