An interesting thing with ARK that I don’t see brought up often is that the animals are subspecies of the real versions. It’s definitely done to handwave the differences, but still a neat lore piece

I don’t think I ever heard from anyone how scientists went from the old version of spino to the newer more accurate one, it’s not like the bones suddenly changed right so how did they figure it out?

Arks creatures are all created by the arks ai operators. Its mentioned that over time errors occur in the program and thats the mutations/differences/unique creatures and why they are "accurate"
