The same is true of VFX. If you thoroughly plan out your VFX shots in advance instead of just saying “we’ll fix it in post,” you save a lot of money and end up with better effects.

Apparently, James Gunn likes to script and storyboard things so thoroughly that on his last two films, he had to do a TOTAL of one day of reshoots between them

You are entirely correct, but it is shocking how many films recognized as good or even great started shooting without a locked script

I have always wanted an eperiment, give 5 directors the same script, same budget and same actors BUT dont let them interact and dont let the actors tell the directors what they did on other sets.
