@sophiemorrisofficial: If you love a good Thai green curry, here’s a really clever swap that will also save you money! A very common brand in supermarkets is Blue Dragon Thai Green Curry Paste—it’s a popular brand and easy to find. But when you check the ingredients, you’ll see palm sugar listed second, meaning 14g of sugar per 100g. That’s a lot for something that doesn’t need sugar at all. It’s also priced at €27 per kilo, which is pretty expensive. Although I have to say the ingredients do look better than what I remember the last time I checked blue dragon’s Thai green curry paste so maybe companies like this are starting to listen 😉 A clever swap is Mae Ploy’s Thai Green Curry Paste. The ingredients are what you’d use if making it from scratch—no added sugar, just real spices and herbs. And the best part? It’s less than half the price at €12.50 per kilo! If you check your local Asian supermarket you’ll probably get it even cheaper there! On another note - if you’re interested in my next round of the UPF reset online course and you sign up via my waitlist you’ll get a special discount when it becomes available 🙌❤️ Just comment ‘waitlist’ below and I’ll send you the link to join the waitlist x #sophiesswaps #cleverswaps #foodlabels #readlabels

if you swap the curry pastes you will have to add palm sugar to the Mae Ploy brand to make it taste right (blue dragon one tastes terrible anyway)

You would always find palm sugar in traditional curry paste. It's called balancing flavour

You need sweetness for a Thai curry! it won't taste like a Thai curry if u don't add some form of sugar.

I use Mae Ploy- but I add palm sugar, fish sauce, galangal and Thai basil. Thai food is all about flavour balance, palm sugar is essential

Bear in mind actual Thai curry paste is much hotter and saltier, my preference is the lobo sachets in an Asian supermarket, the mae ploy is too much product to get through reasonably.
