as a chopsticks user. this technique is fine for starters , but more experienced people use thier thumb and pointer to control and middle finger to hold the stick

the way you hold them can change with the type of chopsticks and the food you're eating. I have been told as long as you aren't stabbing the food and are able to pick things up, you are correct.
