@nurulali1390: This lasted for more than 30minutes. My First Experience Handling a Baby with a Febrile Seizure Having three kids, this was my first time experiencing a febrile seizure, and it was pure panic and chaos. If you ever find yourself in this situation, here’s what you need to know and do: 1. Try to stay calm (as much as possible). 2. Check the baby’s mouth and throat for any obstruction or choking hazard. 3. Lay the baby on their side (preferably the left) on a flat surface. This helps prevent saliva from pooling and entering the lungs. 4. Do not forcefully restrain their stiff arms or legs. 5. Loosen their clothing—if possible, remove all clothing and leave only a diaper on. 6. Gently wipe their entire body with a damp cloth to help regulate temperature. 7. Wait it out while preparing to go to the hospital. 8. If the seizure lasts more than 5 minutes, seek immediate medical attention. What I Learned Today: • Babies as young as one month old can be given paracetamol (PCM) for fever. • Seizures can occur with or without a fever. • Febrile seizures (caused by fever) are usually harmless, while non-febrile seizures are more concerning and should be checked by a doctor. • A simple seizure lasts around 3 minutes and is generally not dangerous. • A complex seizure lasts more than 20 minutes and requires urgent medical attention. • Seizures become dangerous when the baby chokes on their own saliva, which can lead to aspiration pneumonia (fluid in the lungs) or oxygen deprivation. A lack of oxygen can cause organ damage. During a seizure, babies cannot breathe properly, which is why it’s crucial to monitor them closely and ensure their airway remains clear. #seizureawareness

My son had one at 10 months old. Scariest thing in the world. No one prepares you for it. You have to stay calm and remind yourself they’ll be okay. We went to the ER after and his temp read 105 😭

Just breathe. They need u to be calm. Try talking stimulating their face with touch. Obviously make sure they can’t hurt themselves during. Make sure they remain breathing.

kepada ibu bapa yang ada bayi demam, minta tolong sangat2 tolong pantau suhu bayi anda dengan kerap. Jangan biarkan suhu bayi anda terlalu tinggi bagi mengelakkan sawan daripada berlaku

Don’t hold them or try to make them still, lay them down in a safe cushion area and let them seize it out, I had seizures and learned how to take care of them if someone else has them and call 911

Parents sentiasalah spare sirap panadol kat rumah kalau ada anak kecik. Bila demam boleh bagi dulu sebelum jumpa doktor, jangan biar suhu tinggi lama-lama. Dose tanya kat ahli farmasi yang jual tu.

Stay calm. Roll the baby on its side on a flat surface. Move anything dangerous away. Time the seizure. Call 911. I hope this helps!
