@proshedbuilder: Is insulation necessary in a shed tho? It might not be necessary but it sure is a nice luxury to be able to heat and cool your shed efficiently l. #woodworking #diyprojects #diywoodwork #construction #DIY #sheds #tinyshed #shedhouse #insulation #storageshed #creatorsearchinsights
Why faced if you have a vapor barrier… doesn’t make any sense why isn’t the vapor barrier on top of the insulation?

Would it be faster to flip the floor, staple the tyvek to the bottom of the joists, then flip it back to is tall the insulation

In my area of Washington State I’d probably staple some woven metal lathe first, then the Tyvek and insulation. That way the mice, rats and varmints couldn’t chew their way into the insulation.

By design the paper on the insulation should face the habitable space. It not going to have a huge impact this way as u have a barrier to the outside. But paper to the people stapled on to the top 1/x

So you have two vapor barriers facing each other to cause moisture! The face on the insulation should face sub floor, I think, but hey it’s yours!

Lovely thought, but the rodents will be in there over one winter…. It will minimally need hardware cloth installed across the very bottom side first.

Is that vapour barrier or the exterior product that they usually put over sheathing? That looks like the Lowe’s version of Tyvek.

Do you just put the flooring over this or turn it upside down and put the flooring down?

before putting on my subfloor could I just put vapor barrier across all of the joists? I don't think I need insulation for my shed.

So I saw a gud use like sum hard foam type that he nailed sum 1x2 to the side and stuffed in between joists then covered the whole thing with sheathing/ plywood. Is that better and cheaper?

Is this done on all of your shed floors? I’ve never seen anybody do this before on the shed. I like it.

assuming that side will be on the exterior and you’re doing it this way to add some bracing to hold the batts?
