surely you are told what the job entails when you go for the interview before you accept the job.

Us psych workers are no different. We DID NOT sign up to be assaulted. We just wanna help and they ask us well “what could you have done differently”

I’m a pediatric phlebotomist. A child “throwing” hands and feet are one thing. We know how to deal with that. But I’m so so so so scared of going in a room with parents that are hostile.

Well sadly most healthcare business owners won’t do anything extra to keep us safe. Management pretty much okays us getting abused by patients all day at work. All they care about is the money.

Have you done an incident report? Yes. Did you have to put hands on? No (even if it’s yes). But were you wearing PPE? Yes (even if it got pulled off. I’m sick of care staff getting the blame

I’m sick of the abuse, and the managers siding with the patients whilst offering no support to staff 😔

It’s not going to end until there are lawsuits. It’s not the admin problem until you make it their problem.

Crazy how it happens damn near every day to prehospital and no one bats an eye. But I do hope the nurse makes a full recovery. We need to be able to defend ourselves! In and out of the hospital 🤷🏻♂️

The patients need to be held accountable, definitely should be prosecuted. Even if they are unwell, as it actually helps them get a proper care package
