as a Belgian person (born and raised) I too am uncomfortable with the kiss greeting and it's not mandatory to do it if you feel uncomfortable!!

I think this is a big city thing bc i lived in Ghent and Antwerp and there they do it too but in my “rural” town a wave or handshake is perfectly normal.

that's funny because I think it's a little 'weird' when I befriend Americans and they hug a lot but after a whole embarrassing time I realised it's supposed to be a 'non-hip-touching' hug😭
