A 5-ingredient tarte tatin made in less than an hour! #ad I made this pear tarte tatin with miso caramel with @Jus-Rol North America Puff Pastry! I love that their pre-rolled puff pastry is refrigerated (not frozen) so you don’t have to thaw it before using. If you don't have miso, you can sub a big pinch of flaky salt to the caramel! Save this post to try this recipe later! 3 medium pears, ripe but firm 1/2 cup sugar 3 tablespoons butter, cold 1 tablespoon miso paste, any kind (I used red miso) 1 sheet of Jus-Rol refrigerated puff pastry Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Peel, core and cut each pear in half. Cut a 10” circle out of the puff pastry and place in the fridge. Add sugar to a 10” oven-proof skillet and cook over medium heat without stirring until the sugar is mostly melted and amber—you can use a spatula to incorporate any unmelted sugar towards the end. Stir in butter and miso paste until smooth. Add pears, round side down, into the caramel and let cook over medium heat for 3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes, until slightly softened (they’ll continue to cook in the oven). Place the puff pastry circle over the pears and tuck the sides in.
