But of course, Hollywood was not hiring actors like me to be an action star at that time,” he told NPR. Now, the Taekwondo-trained actor plays the lead in the new action film, “Love Hurts.” “I realized very quickly that they were trying to create a different type of action hero,” Quan said. “They were trying to change the status quo.
