That homeless population is safe, kind and polite. We stay near there often and chat with them. Nothing to fear or give a “heads up” about. They exist and deserve respect not negative views.

Shinjuku homeless are mostly young teenagers who left thier family homes to explore life. They are so safe and causing any trouble.

As a footnote, this same building, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building allows everyone access to both towers where you can have a great view of the city . By the way .. . it's free

We stayed at Hotel Groove right by there. Honestly, there’s about 12 people living rough. They are outnumbered by Security personnel looking out for them 🙄

Japan is a magical wonderland! Such lovely people and culture. Super cheap atm with the weak yen which is a break from the high Aussie cost of living. Can’t wait to visit again!
