I was a red shirt (staff) for most of my work experience and a gray shift (shift supervisor) for a little while. We actually had SO MANY hacks at 5 guys. At one point, one of the staff members even created tater tots using the pre-cooked fries but I don’t think I could use that as a hack because you can not order it off the menu. 😂 - - Anyway, the grilled cheese burger is one of my favorites! It just adds more cheesiness and texture to the sandwich. Pro tip, you can add a patty to pretty much anything in the menu for $2.99. Amazingly, the grilled cheese burger came out cheaper than the regular burgers! $4.99 for grilled cheese and $2.99 for the patty.
