@tattoooedtech1: Replying to @quin 🇬🇧 give it a couple of minutes first thing in the morning then nice and steady away until it’s fully upto temperature. #mechanicsoftiktok #tattoooedtech #trucktok #fyp #carsotiktok #driversoftiktok #menoftiktok #WomenOfTikTok #heavytech

my car keeps chokeing, cutting out and bunny hopping, no mechanic in my area will look at it because there's no code coming up for them to work off 😑

They wouldn’t have stop/ start technology if you had to wait to cool down is the way i see it!

All the people whining about cooling a turbo down. Unless you’ve been ragging it for a period of time and then switch it straight off. It’ll be fine. Changing the oil is more important for turbo life

As long as you actually do the right service work this is 100% correct they used to have to with older cars with turbos as the turbos wasn’t as advanced

is it true that the initial turn over before it fires is done on purpose to crank the oil around?.. only heard this the other day

how new does a car have to be to be classed as a modern car? i’ve got a Y reg petrol which isn’t “modern” by my standards. how long i warm it up for depends on the type of driving i’m about to do.

Question big boy, what coolant pressure do your scanias/ dafs run at? Is it anything you’ve ever looked at if a driver is saying his truck is pressurising?

st3.arc (Alan) :
Us ford st/rs owners let the revs drop on start up then let the oil temp rise until we floor it

Let my scooby run for about a minute before driving away, oil temp is what I look for before I start putting my foot in it. Never let it cooldown after a drive either just pull up and ignition off

If you put the foot down when the engine is not at the right temp(Cold), what happens?

the old wives tales were real back in the day.
you've only been on the road 14 years so you won't remember old school turbo cars. I agree with your take on modern stuff though.

I’ve always been told and found the best way to treat a diesel especially a truck is to hammer em from new . Seem to last longer and pull better then nursed motors .

My only problem is that i live 2 intersections away from the highway so theres no real way to warm up my engine before getting on the highway unless i drive around the neighbourhood for 10mims
