It’s one of the fastest and most convenient ways to explore the island, making day trips between cities super easy! Plus, the trains are super clean, punctual, and offer stunning views along the way. Here are a few tips for using the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR): 🚄 Book tickets in advance – Especially during weekends and holidays, as trains can sell out quickly. You can book online or at the station. I used Klook to get discounted tickets. They currently have a Buy1Get1 promo for tourists. Linked in bio. 🚄 Use an EasyCard or iPass – If you’re traveling on non-reserved seats (yes that’s possible), you can simply tap in and out without needing a paper ticket. 🚄 Wifi & Food - The trains are equipped with high speed wifi, luggage storage space, toilets, vending machines as well as a food cart. 🚄 Arrive a little early – While the train system is super efficient, get there 10-15 minutes ahead because you need to have a paper ticket for your reserved seat and so you have time to find your platform.
