y’all don’t understand that alcoholism is a disease. it isn’t a question of “why doesn’t he stop” it’s completely dependent on how much pain it will take him to recover. stop villainizing alcoholics and do some research into how you as a nonalcoholic can be of help to the still suffering alcoholic instead of demonizing them.

I had pancreatitis 3 times due to alcohol. Still didn’t quit… I finally quit when I ran out of alcohol and went into severed withdrawal. They couldn’t get my seizures under control, I was put on life
