With the rising food prices, it’s starting to make even more sense to grow your own food. There’s a cost to running grow lights indoors, but with the latest technologies, these lights have been running efficiently and doesn’t take much energy. A single grow light (Vivosun vs2000) consumes only 200W of electricity and runs between 12-18hrs a day which roughly converts to around 6-$10 a month depending on how long you run it, peak hours, and the light output percentage. A single light can grow up to 36 plants or more. Now if you compare this to the recent inflation cost of a single lettuce head at $5. The monthly cost to run an indoor garden doesn’t seem too bad. Lettuces are fast growing crops and can be harvest within 30 days and because they are a cut and come again plant, you can just keep on harvesting. Also seed packets comes with hundreds of seeds and you can also save seeds yourself for an unlimited supply of lettuce. We grow both outdoors from Spring till end of Fall. Indoors from Beginning of Fall till Spring because of our long cold winters in zone5b. From scratch, homemade Nutella😋 If you’re looking for a gift made with love, try this delicious homemade Nutella infused with peppermint oil. INGREDIENTS: Hazelnuts 2 cups Oil 2 tbsp Sugar 1/3 cup Salt 1/4 tsp Cocoa powder 1/4 cup Vanilla 1 1/2 tbsp MAKE IT EASIER: What I’ve learned from making this: Use hazelnuts with skin removed. Otherwise bake for 8 mins and use cloth to rub and remove skin. Use high powered food processor. Patience is key it will take several turns, if you don’t have a high powered food processor. Flavour the oil. We infused our oil with peppermint using levo oil infusing machine. 🎁LINK IN BIO Use coconut sugar, we went with maple syrup which made it harder to process. Go with granulated sweetener like cane or coconut sugar vs liquid sweetener.
