@shelbykblackburn: Replying to @Savannah any good homecoming ideas?? #deploymenthomecoming#milspouse#homecomingsurprise#deployedhusband#airforcespouse#militaryspouse#usmilitary
Ok as a milspouse that’s also a veteran. It’s not as big a deal as you make it. Deployment is tough, coming home and spending time with family was all I wanted. Favorite foods and chill

Prior military woman here and ex-military spouse. I did themed boxes during deployment (so fun!) and when he came home I tried to keep it very low key and low stress. My ex had severe ptsd.

I can honestly say that the one thing that I wish I had more of was pictures with people that I served with when you return from things or go. That loss of history bothers me to this day.

One of my friends showed up as a wacky waving inflatable tube family for their first kiss. My favorite thing to see

We had someone come take pictures of us picking him up from the airport, got food from his favorite place on the way home and we set out all his favorite snacks/drinks and a few gifts at the house!

Not military but when my husband had to leave for work for a while, when he came back I made sure I had his favorite foods he didn’t have access to ordered to our house so we didn’t have to leave

Peace and quiet . Just the four of us . My youngest didn’t know her dad , because he deployed when she was 10 days old . We scheduled a low key party with close friends and family maybe a week later .

I plan on blowing up a bunch of balloons and tying photos of things my husband has missed out on with a message to describe the day so it’s like he’s getting all caught up!
