They kicked Pebbles in the face and tugged so hard on his leg that it broke. Once they were called in for dinner they left him in the street like a broken toy as he cried out in agony. Pebbles was found by a passerby, collapsed in a corner, whimpering in pain. He was trembling and too weak to move. A group of kids had attacked him, kicking him savagely all over and causing further damage to an already injured leg. WHERE were their parents? Why didn't any responsible adults step in? Sadly, we will likely never know. Our team was contacted and we RUSHED to the scene, beginning to assess Pebbles's injuries while we transported him to the vet. His jaw was broken, making it nearly impossible for him to eat or drink without excruciating pain, so we couldn’t even give him treat to show that we meant him no harm. He was terrified. Upon our arrival, the medical team IMMEDIATELY began working to stabilize Pebbles, providing pain relief medications and IV fluids. Surgery may be necessary to repair his jaw, and plans are being made to address his leg injury. Our priority is to quickly alleviate his suffering and give him a chance to heal.
