Discounts drain your energy and worth. Here’s my story on why I stopped giving discounts and started valuing myself. 💅✨ 6 years ago, I landed a job at a Med Spa where my boss constantly gave discounts—literally every month. I was commission-based, so these discounts brought in tons of people who showed up late, never showed up, or disrespected the spa. One month, my boss decided to stop the discounts, and for two whole weeks, no clients came in. My paycheck was zero, and my boss felt so bad she gave me $100 out of pity. You’d think the spa was thriving because it was beautiful and filled with celebrities and influencers, but they all got free treatments (meaning $0 for me) . I should have learned from that experience, but I thought discounts were the way to go. Social media makes you think you have to do the same. It wasn’t until it affected my health that I had to stop overworking myself & lowballing myself. I had to invest in myself, in business/mindset/personal development education & In a coach to learn the right way to succeed in life & business. Now I am committed to bringing a holistic approach to business mentoring & coaching for estheticians. You can have a soft but successful life. We don’t do booked & busy , we are booked and rested. You absolutely can work 3-4 days a week and still be a 6+ figure esthetician. I used to have almost 10 clients a day giving discounts, now I have 3-4 clients and my income is the same if I had 10 clients + more. It’s not about the money. It’s about your worth and your energy. Before I was so drained that I couldn’t eat, I showed up to work in sweats and a bun, & on top of that get disrespected in my business. Now I can show up fully and be their for my clients 100000% 💜 * just want to say that if you give discounts, that’s completely up to you. There is absolutely no judgement here. This is based on what I believe & experienced. If it works for you, that’s amazing.
