usually helps to spray a little penetrating oil to help break up any dirt/dust that may be hindering you. Been working on cars for 15+ years, I still hate those things lol

these things always suck to remove. sometimes it helps to grab the line with one hand and the tool with another and pushing them into each other as hard as you can.
