Same! Our new house had huge dogs, the smell was so strong it burned your eyes! kilz fixed it!

They also make an enzyme spray you can use. We rented a house that the previous tenant destroyed 😅 they had to spray it and kilz twice 😅😅

I did a test a long time ago where I put pieces of plywood in the bottom of the litter box and then painted them to see which primer blocked the smells the best. Zin Bisser came in 1st with Kilz in 2

You can also get scent additives for paint/primer. Our maint guy would always add peppermint to paint to help with the paint smell and whatever was being covered.
