@helhathfury: Replying to @Honza Buffy the Vampire Slayer is set in a supernatural world but it has ALWAYS commented on real world tensions. If there is ANY scenario in which taking the ability to say “no” from women is fun to you.. well, let’s put on our thinking caps for that. You enjoy the fantasy of women being stripped of their agency. It’s no wonder so many of us choose the bear. #btvs #buffythevampireslayer #thebear
a lot of people seem to think "I can turn off my brain and not be affected by media I consume" but they are wrong

That sounds like weadon unfortunately. I love firefly but damn if his creepiness doesn’t show through in that one too

and bc of his possessiveness over Buffy, didn't tell her vital info that could've saved Angel's life. not to mention blaming her for Riley cheating & leaving her.

Yes it's a supernatural show, but it's set in the real world. With real world culture, customs and laws.

Hello, I am the guy you made this post about and I had no idea this existed. I am blocked so I was not notified abt this and cannot respond. Is there any chance you would consider taking it down? Of course this looks absolutely horrible if that is how it read to you, even I would hate that and sort of understand where you were coming from. By pure fun I meant... well, the fun parts like Buffy being turned into a rat, Willow going after Xander with an axe (though Allyson's acting is heartbreaking), Joyce being into Xander as well when he just thought they are finally save, or Dru ready to kick Angel's as* to protect Xander, the intentionally funny parts. In no way I meant it in reference to women not being able to express consent. I still struggle to see in that episode what you see (which is fine by me), I truly just see the witchcraft and the motive for Xander to feel guilty and stupid. In no way I am for grape culture or anti-women, I even appreciate the bear movement which you mentioned in the caption 😂 I am just a guy who's tiktok is filled with cats, I see women as people and in no way want them to feel unsafe or being taken advantage of. I truly feel horrible that my words were interpreted that way as I truly don't think like that. If there's a chance you would consider taking it down, I'd really appreciate it.

Let's not forget he tried to sa her in the hyena episode. He underminded Buffy's self worth, waited till Himself and Willow were in relationships then cheated with her.

“In real life it’s horrible but in a tv show.” It’s still f’ing horrible because like in reality Xander is never even punished for his actions.

I'm getting tired of people saying it's just fantasy, while ignoring the mindset and actions that lead to the writer choosing that particular fantasy.

"fiction"? Xander was written as a character stand in for Whedon. That's based on REALITY.
