There was something beautiful about loving someone through every version of them, especially the ones they couldn't love themselves. We had gone out for dinner that evening. She had been having mood swings all day. Little things kept bothering her. She was getting irritated over little things. Her face was cute even when she was angry, her eyebrows scrunched and her lips in a tiny pout. I watched her quietly, a smile on my face because even in her anger, she looked so beautiful. Then suddenly, she looked at me with those big, teary eyes "Have you changed?" she asked. I smiled and tilted my head. "No," I laughed. "What happened? Why are you asking?" She looked down for a second before whispering, "You don't love me the way you used to." For a moment, I couldn't control myself, I laughed again. Not because her question was funny but because it sounded so silly. She got even more annoyed. She pouted, her lips turning into a little frown and said, “Tell me naaaa!” I stopped laughing immediately. I reached across the table, held her hand and gently pulled her into my arms. I hugged her tightly, as if I wanted to protect her from every insecurity living inside her heart. And whispered in her ear, "I loved you before and I still love you. More than I ever did." She didn't say anything. Her face stayed hidden against my chest but I could feel the tiny smile she was trying to hide. When she looked up at me again, I gently held her face and smiled. "I've been thinking” I said. She looked at me with curious eyes. "I was the same person I was on the first day we met. But maybe, I really have changed." Her eyes widened and she stared at me so seriously that I almost got scared she was about to scold me. Before she could say anything, I quickly laughed and said, "No, no, not the way you're thinking." "I've changed because I love you more than I did on the day we first met. Every day, somehow, my heart finds another reason to love you a little more. I didn't know love could grow like this until I met you."! Her eyes filled with tears again, but this time they weren't tears of fear, they were tears of relief. A smile appeared on her face. The anger disappeared, the sadness melted away and for a moment, it was just her, me and a love that never faded with time!❤️ . . . #aestheticvroo #foryou #lovesongs #sadsongs
