Always dumping on EVs. Are you being paid by some Mechanics Union or something? A friend just handed over similar money for a 4yo diesel engine replacement. Just out of warranty. Anyone can be unlucky

I can see phev cars given awful grief just out of warranty small battery with massive amount of cycles full EV should be good for 300-400k km unless you're unlucky

and the ford mach e has 12 arrays in the extended range battery at one end they are double stacked so if 9 and 10 fail you have to remove 11 and 12 just to get to them 😂 plus should aways be replaced

Are the modules made up of 16 18650 individual 3.7 volt batteries to provide 59 volts by connected in series..in effect the failure maybe one 18650...how much is a single 3.7 volt cell...?

They are not made to replace the cell this is what the manufacturer has done same as batteries for tools not made to replace,

I've news for you yes you can replace cells on these batteries have had many done on Lexus cars as I said before no help from you God help your customers

My neighbour has 330e 2018 and got some of the cells replaced from BMW cost €3000

It’s not just the cost of the module, they need to be testable while still in place. Then easily removable as 2 days labour is no good to anyone.

Happy with my move to EV from diesel & petrol. Much less maiintenance and tge battery prices are dropping - my house battery now costs 40.% less than two years ago when I got it

I believe the new ev Renault has now the ability to change cells if there's a problem, one of there new features.

The EV companies have some margin on them batteries I’d say at least 50%, literally have people by the b##s.
