@helipilotleigh: Flying amongst the giant icebergs left behind after the #Jökulhlaup See the 360° version on my YT where you can control the view. I'm flying air to air with a drone for a media company to gather some footage of this glacier lake that drained out. The water releases and flows downhill, raising the water level of the glacier lake below, a popular local recreation spot. It can be dangerous as the water level raises rapidly. The scientists and city engineers keep tabs on the status of this lake as it can be dangerous for people and destructive to the bridge downhill from here...the only road into town. This naturally occurring event happens every year usually in June. It happens at many different glaciers and glacier lakes regularly...either annually or more...sometimes 3 or more times a year and been happening as long as we humans have been monitoring. The world, the Earth is dynamic, ever changing. Witnessing this makes me feel small and understand that the world changes no matter if we humans are here or not.
