have a look at Stanley baileys mate (Sheffield Steel) they're better than them chinesium steel starter chisels

Didn’t need a marking gauge… he cut w the Stanley around the hinge and it’s flush, fits well and looks good

use a combi drill and put the clutch at a low setting when driving in screws to prevent it going in too far
