On site you have to wear hard hats incase something falls from a height so why can pedestrians walk under scaffolders working with the same risk as something dropping I think it’s a loop hole in hse

harsh on the scaffs, no matter what barriers and stuff you have in place had so many times people decide to walk through and get in your business when trying to put up or take down jobs

I think for street scaffolding in this case,every safety features should be mandatory and priced into jobs, accidents can happen so preventing them is better and cost less then huge fines

Was out on beams today cantilevered out. 3 times ppl went through barriers. This is in a plant as well, not on the street

Should have maybe something tied to ur gun for tools is a easily prevented but if it’s a clip or pole ur disassembling then can’t fault dropping it

That was in guernsey, know the lad it happened to, apparently they set out barriers to stop people walking next to the scaff but they moved them 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

I had one of my boys drop a spanner from 2.5m. Not near to hitting someone and we got reported. We had the 2nd highest H&S officer in England watch us take the whole lot down

I am working above people ,but if that tool was tethered it wouldn’t fall down to the ground and nearly hit a pedestrian,could be avoid ,health and safety at work it’s really important

It absolutely baffles me why someone would wanna walk under a scaffold being put up or struck anyway, the amount of people that have walked below us with a baby in a pram, 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

This is the problem with street scaffolding. HSE pay too much attention to sites but the majority of risk is on the street work
