Government has been subject to audits, officially, since 1990. The problem is accountability. If the DoD fails an audit (like it did in 2022) what’s the measure of a successful turn around? Yes they resolved 633 issues that were identified in the previous audit but then they identified 2,505 issues that still needed addressing and an additional 479 new items that needed addressing. If I told my boss I’d get my budget in line by 2028, I’d be out of a job
