minimalism in museums is so that the gallery space remains versatile! spaces with prominent styles distract from the art and make it harder to rotate exhibitions. the seating is an issue tho ngl

If the museum doesn’t have a big permanent collection they’ll drift towards the all white. Depending on the artist and museum they can also paint it / cover drill holes easily.

Isabella Stewart Gardner museum in Boston is legally not allow to change a thing from when it was first designed in 1903. It’s amazing.
