@metrouk: Police have found human remains during a fresh search for Rania Alayed, who was murdered by her husband 12 years ago. Rania was 25 when she was murdered in an ‘honour killing’ by husband Ahmed Al-Khatib at a flat in Gorton, Salford, in July 2013. Ahmed was found guilty of her murder and was jailed for life in 2014, but despite several searches by police Ms Alayed’s body never found. However, yesterday Greater Manchester Police located buried remains by the A19 in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, after receiving new information regarding her whereabouts. Her son, Yazan said the discovery had ‘come as a surreal surprise to me and my family’. ‘Being able to provide a final resting place is all we have wanted,’ he said following the news. #tragic #tragiccase #uknews #ukheadlines #mum #ukcrime #police
