I understand the logic, but there's 2 issues. if I've had a traumatic experience with dogs and have made it a point to verify leash laws before visiting an area, at that point it's not about the dog

In my experience it's a symptom of "rules for thee, not for me" belief, so no. Call em out. Don't have to be aggressive about it, but remind them that they aren't special and above following the rules

I see these types of ordinances as “hill to die on” laws and it really depends on culture. I also live in your state and we have those laws here…I doubt (except in common sense circumstances) anyone..

I will only tell people to use a leash only because there are entitled people out there that believe that their dog can do no harm, and then it becomes a problem. Even for myself, I will use a leash on my dog if I ever go out in public because to me, it’s the safest thing to do

so when your off leash animal gets killed by an on leash animal will you have the same argument? think like mask laws. maybe care enough about your animal to protect it🤷♂️

I had a woman berate me for not having my dog on a leash at a dog park. A place literally made for dogs to run around. She was *screaming* at me to leash him.

My wife was nearly killed by a nice dog off leash. I jumped outta the way before another leashless dog tore into me outside Lowe’s. It’s at best selfish.

if no problem, then no problem, but if problem, then problem. sadly in this situation that problem can be deadly, dog attacks happen for seemingly no reason with well trained dogs too and people die

They call it a leash LAW for a reason. As someone who was attacked by a German Shepherd when I was six, I have very low opinions about people that don't leash their dogs.

The issue is my dogs. My dogs are leash aggressive. Leash your dogs so mine won’t kill yours. Simple as that

My 3 year old that got bit on the face by a "would never hurt anything" dog while in a wagon minding their own business would argue the other side. There are spaces for off leash dogs.
